Sumitra’s love of photography, including location and studio photography,
began in 1980. She was initially employed as a designer for Lotus Leather of Mt. Shasta, California. To the delight of her employer, her photos were chosen for an international advertising campaign by North Beach Leather of New York. This was the beginning of her labor of love.

As a photographer, she is acknowledged for her ability to not only take a technically perfect photo, but for possessing the unique talent of being able to capture the inner light of her subject.
